The program has invited 2 organizations to the Caregivers group for next Saturday: The New York Foundling (NYF) and Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY). NYFwill facilitate a presentation on the Deaf Services that they provide. PPGNY will facilitate the workshop "Talking to Your Children About the Facts of Life". This workshop is designed to help parents talk with their children about sexuality. It introduces the sensitive topic, offers how to answer tough questions, and shows how to turn everyday opportunities into “teachable moments.”
Their Parent Coordinator, Maiber Solarte, formerly worked with Lexington in Care Coordination for many years before moving on to a Social Worker with Make The Road NY. She brings a wealth of knowledge, is fluent in ASL and native Spanish speaker. This space is open to the wide community and ASL Interpretation will be available.
