The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of students’ education records. This law gives parents/guardians, and students over 18 years of age (“eligible students”), certain rights with respect to student education records. Lexington is required to inform parents/guardians of these rights.
Detailed information about FERPA, the Parents' Bill of Rights for Data Privacy & Security, and other policies related to the protection of student data is included below. Should you have any questions about FERPA, please contact Pupil Personnel Services at 718-350-3250 or pps@lexnyc.org.
