Four high school students attended 4201 Advocacy Day in Albany on February 11th. The students met with legislators and their staff to discuss the vital role played by the state's eleven 4201 Schools in educating students who are deaf, blind, or severely physically handicapped.
A special thank you to the following legislators and their staff for meeting with our students:
Assemblymember Sam Berger (27th Assembly District)
Assemblymember Ron Kim (40th Assembly District)
For more than 200 years, the eleven member schools of the 4201 Schools Association have provided special education services to children who are deaf, blind, or severely physically handicapped. The 4201 Schools Association advocates for funding and services for our special needs students commensurate with that provided to public school students.
Priorities for the 2025-2026 State Budget include:
Funding growth aligned with investments made in public school districts
Legislation to authorize 4201 Schools to retain a fund balance
$30M over three years for workforce support and retention
