Four Lexington students, comprising one middle school team and one high school team, competed in the 3rd Annual NRSC-ADIB D/HH Drone Tournament on February 7th and 8th. Congratulations to the Middle School's team, the Soaring Bluejays, for winning the Communication Award for their outstanding interview and engineering notebooks.
During the competition, students fly drones through an obstacle course using both autonomous and remote-controlled features. The tournament was sponsored by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Regional STEM Center (NRSC) at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (ADIB) to promote STEM education and career awareness for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. The two-day private tournament was held at Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, GA.
