Community Outreach
Audiology staff use the Mobile Outreach Van to conduct hearing tests at community organizations and at industrial work sites for compliance with OSHA. The van is equipped with a Mobile Audiometric Test Suite, which allows for hearing evaluations and analyses of current hearing aids in the field. Referrals for follow-up consultations are made back to the Lexington Hearing and Speech Center or to other local organizations. Referred individuals are given a diagnostic medical work-up including audiology and
aural rehabilitation.
